I asked City Folk to perform at my 50th birthday party. They were brilliant and all of them were All Ireland champion musicians. They got all the guests up dancing for the ceile and the caller was also a champion dancer and gave an exhibition of same. They also did some rock and roll and we had a fantastic time.

City Folk played at our church service in Ardagh and the main function at Viewmount House. The music in the Church and their soprano were exceptional. They played just the items we requested and the soprano was super. The mixture of classical and traditional in the Church was just what we wanted and the music at night and ceile were great fun. Dublin City Folk played at our wedding ceremony and ceilidh in June. Organisationally the process was flawless - Clem responded to emails promptly and was more than flexible in coping with the usual and often unusual wedding complications.  Musically the band was brilliant - the music for the ceremony was beautiful and the ceilidh was wild as was the dancing that went with it. All the musicians were so helpful on the day itself such as thinking about playing outside in the gardens for the drinks reception when it became apparent that we were going to have a gloriously hot day. All our guests were highly complementary of their playing. As musicians ourselves we wanted playing which was to the highest standard. We were not disappointed. Our German / Irish wedding was made extra special by the band City Folk. They could not have been more obliging and their organisation was very efficient. Just a note to say thank you so much for the legendary performance at our wedding in Beleek Castle in Ballina Co. Mayo in May 2008. It's still talked about as one of the most entertaining, brilliant and quirky receptions that people had ever been to. The music and the ceili meant that both the irish and americans, of all ages, joined in and really let loose for the evening. From the waltzes, ceili songs, the ballads to the 'hokey pokey' people couldnt get enough! Dublin city folk's charm, punctuality, and effortless liaising back and forth with us in the weeks leading up to the wedding and excellent price took a huge amount of stress off us. Brilliant all round. You are a very unique group with a talent to energise an audience. We are so glad we didn't go for the cookie cutter run of the mill wedding band. Thanks for the follow up e-mail, we have just got back from honeymoon so apologies for the delay in getting back to you.
