City Folk played at our wedding in the Shelbourne Hotel on 25th July. The played the drinks reception, provided a piper to pipe our guests into the main function room then played a ceili and traditional music and song, and provided a dj to finish the night. Every aspect of their performance was of the highest order. Great value as well for the full day. Very dependable throughout and excellent communciation prior to the the function. Just a quick note to say thank you for the ceili set you performed for us at our wedding. You got everyone up onto the dance floor from the young children up to Nellies nana who is 90!! We had many comments from guests saying how much they enjoyed the dancing. A lot of the guests were from the UK so it was a great taste of Ireland for them! Just a note to say thank you so much for the legendary performance at our wedding in Beleek Castle in Ballina Co. Mayo in May 2008. It's still talked about as one of the most entertaining, brilliant and quirky receptions that people had ever been to. The music and the ceili meant that both the irish and americans, of all ages, joined in and really let loose for the evening. From the waltzes, ceili songs, the ballads to the 'hokey pokey' people couldnt get enough! Dublin city folk's charm, punctuality, and effortless liaising back and forth with us in the weeks leading up to the wedding and excellent price took a huge amount of stress off us. Brilliant all round. You are a very unique group with a talent to energise an audience. We are so glad we didn't go for the cookie cutter run of the mill wedding band. Thanks for the follow up e-mail, we have just got back from honeymoon so apologies for the delay in getting back to you. Having you at our drinks reception was one of the best decisions we made, you created a great atmosphere and entertained the whole party and people of all ages enjoyed the music and the sing along. It was great that Father Des could also get involved and joined in on a few tracks. Many of our guests commented on the music and delivery and all agreed that it made the afternoon and was superb entertainment.
